This is a wonderful resource for doing locally focused teaching of nature study.
There are three sections of the book. In the first section, Clare Walker Leslie writes about Teaching Nature Journaling and Observation. In part two, John Tallmadge introduces us to Writing as a Window into Nature. Part three, by Tom Wessels, is about Reading the Landscape's History (and I might add that this was utterly fascinating).
My copy is, of course, dog-eared, highlighted, written in, paper clipped and book marked. It's a small book, and makes for a quick but educational read.

We're nearing the end of my series of posts on nature journaling. Tomorrow I'll introduce you to Hannah Hinchman. She's just amazing.
